Questions
Straight answers
- Is it really free?
- Yes. The course, the leader guide and the printable pages are free to use, copy and run in your program. There is nothing to buy and no account to make.
- Who can run it?
- Anyone who works with teenagers: an after-school program, a library, a youth club, a faith group, a 4-H or scouting leader, a teacher running a club, or a parent. You do not need a business background. The leader guide tells you what to say and ask.
- What age is it for?
- It is written for teens 13 and up. For younger students, see the paper-only grades 7 and 8 pack on the teachers page.
- How long does it take?
- Eight weekly sessions of about an hour, one for each of the 8 modules. Each ends with something real to go and do before the next session, like talking to a customer, so it works best weekly.
- Do students need a computer or an account?
- No. Students can work on paper from the printed pages. The course is also free to read online with no account if you have devices.
- Does Launch League collect any student information?
- No. You never send us a student's name or work. The only thing we collect is an optional note from you, the adult, if you want to tell us you are running it.
- Is it aligned to Ohio standards?
- I have not mapped it to Ohio standards and I will not claim it is. It is practical, real-world entrepreneurship you can run beside whatever your program already does.
- Can my students pass it on to younger kids?
- Yes, and that is a good way to finish. A student who has completed the course can teach a session to a younger group using the same pages, with an adult in the room.
Launch League has no partnership with any school or district and does not claim one. Using this does not make your program a Launch League partner.
