Volunteer · Northeast Ohio
Help the next generation of local entrepreneurs.
Read a few entries and tell a student what is strong and what to do next, or mentor one over video. Business owners, veterans and professionals welcome.
Two ways to help
Judge, mentor, or both
Judge
Score entries on a published 100-point rubric and write feedback to each student. Every complete entry gets feedback from a judge, so your words matter.Mentor
Talk with a student 13 or older about your work and how you got there, over video, with a parent or guardian's knowledge.
Veteran business owners
You know what it takes to start something
Veterans who own businesses have a lot to offer a student who has an idea and no one to ask. If that is you, say so in the form.
Launch League has no formal partnership with any veteran organization, and does not claim one.

Questions
Straight answers
- How much time does it take?
- Judging means reading a few entries against a published rubric and writing feedback to each student, on your own schedule once the competition is open. Mentoring is a conversation or two over video. I will tell you the exact time before you agree.
- Is it paid?
- No. It is volunteer work. I make no promise of business, referrals or publicity, though some people find it a good way to meet other local owners.
- Do I need to be a veteran?
- No. Veteran-owned businesses are especially welcome, and so is anyone who runs or has run a business, works in a trade or profession, or hires young people.
- Will I be in contact with students directly?
- Judges write feedback through the competition and do not contact students privately. Mentoring is arranged with a parent or guardian's knowledge, and I will set out the safeguarding rules before anyone is matched.
- Is anyone signed up yet?
- I am recruiting. I will not list judges or mentors on this page until each has agreed to be named.
