Towns
Five towns, one at a time
- BarbertonBarberton has no college and no Small Business Development Center of its own, so the closest free business help is in nearby Akron, and its strongest career hook is a shared career-tech program at the high school.Summit County
- AkronAkron is the county seat and the one place on this list with a university, a startup hub and a free business counseling office in town.Summit County
- WadsworthWadsworth is an accredited Main Street community with a chamber that dates to 1954, and its students share the Four Cities Compact career-tech programs held in Barberton.Medina County
- RittmanRittman is small, with one high school where students can earn college credit on their own campus, and a salt plant that dates to 1898.Wayne County
- DoylestownDoylestown is a village of about 3,000 with no chamber of its own, so help for a young person or a new business here means looking to Wooster, Akron and the county.Wayne County
